Privacy Policy

This policy covers steeplechasepartners.com, the website of Steeplechase Partners, LLC in Kansas City, Missouri (“we” or “us”). The site is informational. It has no accounts, no forms, no newsletter and nothing for sale, so we collect very little.
What we collect
- Email you send us. If you write to us, we get your email address, your message and anything you attach.
- Server logs. Netlify, our web host, logs requests to the site. A log entry usually includes your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for, the page that sent you and the time.
We don’t use analytics, ad trackers or cookies. The site’s fonts and images load from this domain, not from outside services. Netlify adds a small script for the badge it shows on its free plan. If you minimize or hide that badge, the script saves your choice in your browser’s local storage. That setting stays in your browser, and we don’t see it.
How we use it
- To reply to you and carry on any conversation you start, including talks about a possible sale of your business.
- To keep the site running and secure, for example to spot abuse or fix errors.
- To meet legal obligations.
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
Who else handles it
- Netlify hosts the site and keeps the server logs.
- Google Workspace runs our email.
- Our lawyers and accountants, if a conversation moves forward and they need the information to advise us.
- Government authorities, if the law requires it.
Netlify and Google handle data under their own privacy policies.
Information about your business
If you tell us about your business, we treat it as confidential. Once we’ve both signed a nondisclosure agreement, that agreement governs the information covered by it.
How long we keep it
We keep email for as long as it’s useful for the conversation and our records, and delete it when we no longer need it. Netlify decides how long its server logs are kept.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, and our email runs on Google Workspace. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send anything highly sensitive by email until an NDA is in place and we’ve agreed how to share it.
Children
This site is meant for business owners. It isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has sent us personal information, let us know and we’ll delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it. Email us and we’ll respond. Some US state privacy laws, such as California’s, give residents rights like these. Those laws may not apply to a business our size, but we’ll handle reasonable requests either way, unless we have to keep something for legal reasons. We won’t treat you differently for asking.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the effective date.
